Forensic Science Service

Carillion Planned Maintenance is the FM contractor at the Huntingdon laboratory of the Forensic Science Services whose headquarters are in Birmingham. The contact commenced on July 1st 2002 and is a five year term.

The site consists of approximately 2900m2 of offices and laboratories set in 8 acre grounds with current staff employment on site being approximately 260.

As part of an ongoing programme to redevelop the site, Carillion Planned Maintenance refurbished a number of DNA laboratories. This work comprised the replacement of old suspended ceilings with new, upgrading of lighting to give greater working light level, replacement of work benches with more modern laboratory furniture, replacement of old flooring with new, new partitioning to section off gowning areas, plumbing works to relocate sinks and water/drainage supplies to machines and redecoration.
